AirClean® Systems chemisorptive bonded carbon filters represent a significant breakthrough in ductless fume hood technology. Other manufacturers of ductless hoods utilize granulated loose carbon filters that are not only dirty, they may actually be more hazardous than the chemical being contained. The key to effective adsorption is in the carbon media and mass.

In 1992, AirClean® Systems recognized a major flaw in ductless fume hood design and developed a proprietary process to hold carbon in a solid matrix, preventing toxic dust from being blown into the user’s breathing zone. Impregnants being used to neutralize the high level disinfectants are safely held in the solid matrix preventing potentially dangerous exposure to highly toxic particulate. The filter can literally be snapped in half without any exposure. The bonding process eliminates “dead zones” in the filter by evenly distributing carbon, capacity is maximized.
